Merry Christmas to all!

Merry Christmas to all you purrfect kitties!  It has been a long time since my last posting but it has been a big year for my typist and she is only getting time now to write for me!  I have missed all my furry friends but it has been lovely to read a few things blogs and comments.

I have been busy trying to integrate a new housemate into our house but she has been very accommodating to my morning needs of feeding me.  They put the Christmas tree up and of course, again like last year I had to have a sticky peek at the putting up of the tree.

The past few weeks have been crazy!  I've been racing up and down the stairs and scratching on the couches (I know they don't like me doing it but I just can't help myself!  I don't like the scratching post).

Unfortunately, tomorrow morning is the first day of the sales in Australia and my typist has to go to sleep (but I may wake her up in early!).

Bring on 2009!  Mieow :)

Hop along cassidy!

My SMS is so slow as of late.  A couple of days ago she played netball for the first time in 17 years and then strains her ligament in her left knee.  She is now hopping around and it takes her ages to get me food.  I'm so cheeky that I go through her legs (hee hee hee).  She manages to not trip over me but does get annoyed at me a little.  I like to stir her up!
The weather is getting a little cooler in Sydney, Australia that the gas heater has started being turned on.  I LOVE laying in front of the heater and sleeping.  One of the reasons why I love cold weather.

What's life but a show!

What a great show it was! I totally had fun working in it. But, look what I got from the executives of the CCSI......

This is our group photo of the cast and crew - they are such a fun crowd to work with that I do wish the show could go on forever.

Earlier, on May 8, soon after we retruned from the cruise, I was invited by J kitties of Crizcats to a surprise party that they had organized for their human daddy, the script writer for our show. What scrumptious food...yum!!!!! Lots of other kitties were there as well.....

It's my SMS's birthday

It's my SMS's birthday today. She is so busy that she has probably forgotten about it herself. So Momo and I asked Leslie, mom of the kitties at Topcatrules, Tigger, Trixie and Pyewacket, to help us make a 'surprise party' birthday card for her.....

Thanks Leslie! Have a great birthday!!!!!

Cruise

Momo has invited me to go on a cruise with her and some of our friends. We are meeting at Socks's garden for a picnic first before sailing around the Bay of Mexico and up to Florida to visit some friends. Being in Australia, we have a long way to go. So we have to leave bright and early this morning. Here are Charlie, Momo and I lazing out on deck, soaking up the warm sun, with snacks and iced drinks by our side and catching up on some magazine reading..........

Karl's blogoversary Lizard BBQ Party

I am honoured to be invited to Karl's blogoversary party. The bonus, of course, is that my sweet Riley is going to be there dancing with me as a member of the Mariachi Kitty Dance Troupe. Have we been practicing hard! Just treat it as a rhetoric question, won't you?

It is nice and sunny and we have a great time napping and sunning ourselves before the BBQ starts.....

Middle Name Meme

My sweetheart Riley tagged me for this Middle Name Meme, but since I do not have a middle name I am using my mom's surname

Here is how it works:

1. You have to post the rules before you give your answers.

2. You must list one fact about yourself beginning with each letter of your middle name. (If you don't have a middle name, use your maiden name or your mother's maiden name).

3. At the end of your blog post, you need to tag one person (or blogger of another species) for each letter of your middle name. (Be sure to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged.)

W - for Waker. I have a lot of ways to wake my SMS for an early breakfast
I - for Imp. I am an impish little girl and up to all sorts of adorable and not-so- adorable tricks.
L - for Lovely. I have lovely eyes, Don't you agree?

L -for Lucky. I have been lucky so far in my life to have scored such a good home and caring humans.
S - for Sweet. I am a sweetie pie!!!! Just ask my SMS and my sweetheart Riley.

I tag Charybdis to play this game

Easter at Mississippi

I have spent this Easter with my cousin Momo. She suggested that we should go on a little trip with Tesla now that she has got rid of her cone. She has never been away before and her mom was a little anxious so we decided to go visit Socks, Scylla and Charybdis at their home at the Mississippi Gulf Coast, where it was safe and we have friends.

As we were leaving our host kitties kindly sent me a basket of lovely spring flowers. Thankyou so much!

I have also prepared a small Easter gift pack to take with us ....

We arrived early and while Scylla and Charybdis were setting up the picnic at the Butterfly Memorial Garden Socks took us to visit the solar fountain...

After the picnic we all lazed around the garden with our favourite drinks on hand and listened to the birdies singing.....

Before we went back to the house Charybdis showed us the geese family that lived on their property. She warned us that the geese might be quite unfriendly and that we should not get too close to them.....

All photos taken by Momo

Back in the house, the girls showed us the pictures that they took in their recent Irish trip and the stuff that they brought back from Munich. Both Tesla and I were envious and wished that we could have gone. Maybe next year....

In the afternoon, their dad took us for a spin in his boat and we passed by Cat Island, a barrier island not far from where they lived. Part of this island is now a sanctuary for migratory birds and alligators. Needless to say we were quite happy not to go ashore and become dinner for the alligators.

We teleported to our respective home soon after. Thankyou for having us, Socks, Scylla and Charybdis, it was a most enjoyable day and it was lovely to see you again.

The Neighbours Cat

Unbelievable!  My SMS came home late as per usual and her housemate said that there was another cat in the house!  I can testify that it is true cause I saw her with my own eyes in one of the bedrooms and could sense her with our special cat heightened sense.  My SMS went up the stairs to her room and there she was, the cat on her bed!  The cat raced down the stairs and out through the kitchen window.
The next day I checked the rooms and double checked them, especially when the girl housemate went to her room.  I didn't want that cat to scare her!
The following day, the neighbours cat had the audacity to come back into my house again!  This time the other housemate said to my SMS that we had a visitor again...  It is fine cause I chased her away, however, notice my tail in the picture, my fur is all spiked out cause I sense her...

I don't mind visitors when I invite them, however she was intruding into my space without an invitation.

Woe is me

These days my SMS is so busy with work, certificate training course and assignments that she neglects me totally. She doesn't help me with my blog, visit my friends or take me to parties. I am shut up in the little house all alone, all day, every day. Maybe I shall run away again!

All by my little lonesome self.....

Poor me!

Breakfast is served

I get fed once a day and generally speaking that is in the mornings.  I am so hungry at about 5.30am that I start waking up and pawing at my SMS to wake up.  She generally turns away and tells me to go back to sleep for another 10 minutes.  I then decide to scratch at the fly screen as the window is just above her head which really annoys my SMS, that's how I get her to feed me in the morning!
I seriously am so hungry in the morning that I race down the stairs and go straight to my food bowl.

I then hear that wonderful sound of the food bag rustling and hear the cup fill with yummy delicious biscuits and I then try to grab them!  I'm just so excited about food!

Finally,  the food is placed in the bowl and breakfast is served!

My SMS usually caves in and I get a small little helping of food at night!  mmmmm....  I used to be fed soft food in the morning and biscuits at night until my SMS noticed I was growing big love handles and a tummy that was expanding.  The vet said to her that I don't do enough exercise and that I should cut portions or feeding down to 1 cup a day.  Yes - I am the biggest loser!  I have lost about 1kg.
Currently I'm being served these Salmon biscuits and I don't seem to like these as much as the turkey ones.  Riley, I think I'm becoming more fond of the taste of turkey....you know the way to a girls heart, don't you?!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

I thought that I might type in red because it is Valentine's Day.
Before I whisk off to Momo's LOVE BOAT, I just wanted to declare that Riley is my main man cat.  He is so special  Look at what he bought me...
THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!  I've never received flowers before from anyone, so they are extremely wonderful.
Also want to say Happy Birthday to Riley's mommy.  It must be very easy for everyone to remember her birthday and for daddy not to forget!

Did you know: that according to the Greeting Card Association, an estimated 1 billion Valentine's Day cards are sent each year making Valentine's Day the second largest card sending day of the year.  (An estimated 2.6 billion cards are sent for Christmas!).

Anyway, HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY to all.  I'm sure St Valentine would be pleased to see that love is being spread around on 14 Feb.

I LOVE VENICE

Venice was such a fun trip!  I left a note for my SMS telling her to not fret and that I would be ducking out to Venice for a little gathering.  I surprised everyone!  I love my costume.  I've never been to a Venetian Canivale before.
Lucky there are gondola's cause I can't swim!  Thanks Opus and Roscoe for taking the group shot.  I still can't believe we all fit into the small boat!

Home, sweet home

Except for those two worrying days that I regretably put my SMS and everbody through, my days are spent in a little terrace house in an inner city suburb of Sydney. It consists of two storeys and an attic and a small courtyard at the back where I laze around and enjoy sunny days.

This is my 'bedroom'. Well, it's not exactly a room as it is actually on the second floor landing and has no door. The bed is really for overnight guest but since that's an infrequent occurrence, I have taken over. You can see my scratching post at the end of the bed.

Although I have a scratching post (which I rarely use), I prefer scratching the lounge.

This is the lounge room which opens to the street. I love sitting by the door watching traffic and people walking by.

Being an old house there is a working fireplace, which we hardly ever use. However, it's a good place to hang my Christmas stocking.

The stairs is my favourite spot to nestle and watch the household.

This is one of my favourite corners of the house - where my food and drinking bowls are. It is in the kitchen.

This is the table in the back courtyard. I sometime hop up there to inspect what SMS and her housemates have left on it. They must learn not to leave anything whappable there.
